State-run telecom operator BSNL announced that it has launched its high-speed FTTH (fiber to the home) broadband service, Bharat Fiber, in the country, and will offer 35 GB/ day at as low as Rs 1.1 per GB to take on Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
The subscribers of the telecom operator have been in a long wait as BSNL has been making an announcement in the past few weeks about the launch of the service. However, now it seems that the wait of the subscribers is over as BSNL has finally launched the Bharat Fiber high-speed data Fiber to the home (FTTH) service in India. With the launch of this service, the subscribers will be able to enjoy high speed, high volume data for seamless entertainment, browsing, video streaming gaming, work and more. The move comes at a time when Mukesh Ambani-led Jio is extending its GigaFiber trials to over 1400 cities in the country before launching it commercially.
Shri Vivek Banzal, Director CFA, BSNL Board remarked about the launch of BSNL’s new FTTH service and said, “We realize that now customers are demanding super fast internet and have started owning more electronic gadgets and entertainment tools than ever before. So our Fiber to the Home technology has been upgraded and we are happy to announce the launch of Bharat Fiber which will be an affordable yet able to meet the huge data demand of our customers.”
The official said that BSNL maintains transparency in its billing systems and share complete details with customers. “We are also issuing regular security and usage advisory to our customers based on usage pattern. Customer satisfaction and customer loyalty are key themes we regularly work on and it’s bringing now results to us,” added Banzal.
Subscribers who opt for a Bharat Fiber connection will get data and Wi-Fi connection which will provide sufficient data for use by an entire family. Subscribers will be able to consume as much as 35 GB of data per day over the Bharat Fiber connection with prices as low as Rs 1.1 per GB. Further, the government led telecom operator has also announced that the bookings for Bharat Fiber have already started on the BSNL portal.
The company representatives said that the launch of Bharat Fiber orients with the Digital India mission and thus this service would help the center in connecting maximum homes of the country with the internet. In simple words, BSNL is now calling its broadband service as Bharat Fiber, so that it can compete with Jio even in terms of naming. As you might be aware of by now, BSNL recently converted its broadband plans to daily data plans.
